"As some of you guys will know, I have written 3 lyrics for the third Aborym album. With about 2 years left of my imprisonment, I figured it is about time returning to the extreme metal-scene in a more extensive way than I have done so far and therefore I have started writing lyrics for bands around, Zyklon, Aborym and Sigh being the most profound ones. I feel comfortable writing lyrics, and in the hope that people stil read lyrics, it gives me a chance to use the music as a speaker for my thoughts and views. Being an admirer of Aborym as well as a friend of Sethlans it was natural for me to write the band the 3 lyrics when they asked me to. Not only is their debut as well as the follower two strong albums consisting of pure sonic black metal, but I also like to support relatively smaller bands - in this vast jungle of bands - and if my contribution could ever help Aborym to get a little more attention, the attention they deserve, I would only be glad, but whereas for now, I am sure their music will speak for itself. "Visions" Burzum Tribute Album

It is finally ready the official Burzum tribute double CD. Enter the official Cymophane Records web site in order to know more informations about (www.cymophane.com). Aborym is proud to be involved in this tribute compilation with the lisergic and weird cover "Det Som En gang Var" from "Hvis lyset tar oss" album (1993). The same remixed version of this track shall appear in the forthcoming second full lenght "Fire walks with us", planned to be out in September on Scarlet Records (Italy).

"Very "simple" to tell the truth, and directly connected with Varg's one: the Triumph and the Enlightment of True Will. Burzum music has been very influencial for us in a (sub)/conscious way, both for the music and the lyrics. The first time i listened to Burzum "a chill rose from the soil" and my soul was strenghtened, I felt a strong tie with the feelings of which the music was full of. I view Burzum also as an expression of duality, of the energy spawned from the opposites; the ultimate way to reach Purity through strife. The song we did, "Det Som En Gang Var", is a perfect example of it: it's incredible how "simplicity"(music/lyrics wise) can unleash such complexity! The quest for Wisdom and Quintessence is neverending, isn't it? For this reasons (and lot of others, concerning different things for everyone of us) we decided to honour Burzum and to feast with his sounds in the Tower of the Eye. Ave Burzum! Ave Varg Vikernes!" The release of "Tribute to Burzum"-CompilationCD is scheduled for June, 20th, 2000 a.y.p.s. - it'll most likely be a Double CD, since we received an enormous feedback from many musicians and bands. Artwork: "The design I based on the idea that many bands cover Burzum's older songs but interpret them their own way and knowing where Burzum is musically now. Its basically like opening an old handwritten book and you are letting yourself be amazed by the craftsmanship of the writer and the maker of all those small "miniatures" The texts are all in old dialect and spellings and very hard to make out, yet when you look closer and interpret lines and phrases you find that the knowledge is old, but without it the world wouldnt have gotten any further. Thats why I used an old book cover, old anatomy drawings to explain a bit of what these bands are trying to do. This is also the reason why I named it "Visions" Also I placed the Burzum logo in the middle so it would not be mistaken for an Burzum album and now it clearly shows that the title is Burzum instead of the writer of the album." We all know the countless "Tribute"-CD's released to honor this or that particular band and musician, featuring more or less boring and uninspiring 1:1-copies of the original songs.

Especially among the so-called 'Black Metal'-scene boomed the "Tribute"-mania during the past few years... even MAYHEM and DARKTHRONE got their deserved -or undeserved- 'Tribute' from other bands. There is one band, though, which has influenced more than once the entire 'Black Metal' and Independent Music-Scene. This band, or call it Solo-Project if you want to, was and is an impact on every extreme-minded musician and music-fan throughout the world.
