Here's what I've added to Zenyatta Andatta since it's creation back in Summer 2000:
- Two more shows added to the trading page.
- Menu page updated with thanks page and news.
- The Equipment 1997 - Present section is finally online after losing alot of research due to a computer crash. You wouldn't REALLY think I'd leave anything under construction for 4 months now would you? >:)
- 3 new items put up in the Ads and Images section: an Andy Summers & Robert Fripp Press Kit, Peggy's Blue Skylight Press Kit, and a Smash Hits Photo Card.
- The news has been updated on the menu page regarding Andy's next touring move.
- New section put up - Live Shows For Trade. Hopefully I'll be able to get more recordings of Andy Summers shows this way, so any people interested in a trade should mail me.
- An ad for 'Green Chimeys' has been added to the Ads And Images section.
- A new index page put up; menu page has a new look. Got Andy?
- Back from my vacation! A new Guitar World magazine cover from May 1981 has been put up.
- New LINKS have been added, including ones to Sting Etc. and the Swedish Police Page.
- New Ads and Images have been added, including a 'World Gone Strange' Promo Photo, a 'Charming Snakes' Promo Photo, and the cover to a 1987 Guitar Player Magazine Special Edition - Guitar Synths and MIDI.
- The Timeline has been updated and fixed up again; more accurate recording dates for Andy's solo albums have been put up.
- My 'out-of-town' notice has been put up on the menu page...
- I also fixed the counter, it seems I accidentally erased the code that makes it count hits... oops...
- A minor update: Info about a new article in the latest Guitar Player magazine has been put up. Andy is featured along with Al Di Meola and Steve Morse in talking about collaborating with Manuel Barrueco on his new album 'Nylon And Steel.'
- Some big news added to the front of the page regarding Andy's first live webcast from Sydney, Australia. The menu has been 'jazzed up' a bit and an error in the Timeline regarding when Andy Summers was inducted in to Guitar Player Magazine's 'Gallery Of The Greats' has been fixed.
- Two new lessons have been put up as well as a new link to StingAmazon.
- Brand new section devoted to Andy's early solo-era gear has been put up. The information for this section was very hard to find but I'm glad it didn't totally come out scarce!
- The Discography section has been updated with a few more records: the 2010 single and soundtrack (thanks to Pablo!) and the Hank Marvin tribute.
- Although the section is under construction, I'm putting up a page featuring Andy's Currrent Rack Gear for all you fans out there to see.
- It's up : The Complete Andy Summers Discography. I know lots of you will have fun with this, and it really shows the course of Andy's playing evolution. Thanks for all your support...
- An Andy Summers and Robert Fripp 1982 Promo Photo has been added to the Ads and Images section.
- Jeez, only a day later and something's already new. Now there is a LINKS section where a bunch of really good Police-related links will hang around for your convienience. Go check 'em out!
- I've also added legal text to the lessons, something I should have done a LONG time ago. The lessons are the same, but at the bottom I have included the publishing and copyright information for each song. This is basically so someday a guy won't come along, rip off the riff to 'Bring On The Night' and get away with it because he saw it on this website unsecured. Don't get me wrong, I'm still cool with all of you out there - just watching out for The Police's music and Andy's riffs!
~HAPPY MOTHERS DAY~
- After months of research, it's finally finished - The Andy Summers Timeline. I hope this helps, as well as entertains, all the people who see it. This is yet another one of my proud tributes to the man, the musician that is Andy Summers. ENJOY!
- Two new magazine covers added to the Ads And Images section.
- Due to popular demand, I have added a lesson about the 'Driven To Tears' solo - click here to see it!
- Andy Summers' Touring Page sadly informs us that the Baked Potato in North Hollywood is closing down. Andy will play a gig there on the 27th, which will most likely be his last concert there... whatever reason there is to see it close, I'm sure any musician or music fan can see that this is a great loss. It was a great place to get together and listen to some of the best players in town... however, not all is lost. There is another Baked Potato out there in Southern California, in Studio City on Cahuenga Blvd. And c'mon, it's Andy Summers! ANY club would be glad to book him-
- Two new promo advertisments from the early solo days have been added to the in the Ads & Images section as well as a new magazie cover from '83.
- I can't say when it'll be up, but I am currently researching Pearce amplifiers, Dean Markley amps and Steve Klein guitars for the upcoming section about Andy's solo career 1985-1996. This time in Andy's playing hasn't been very well documented, and many people have helped so far in figuring out what he played and used. THANK YOU!
- Two new promo advertisments in the Ads & Images section, thanks to David Maxson for info on the two 'mystery amps' on the Gear page.
- Two new early-80's advertisments in the Ads & Images section.
What's up fellow Summers-freaks,
- I've added three new ads in the Ads & Images section. With the amount of old music magazines I have access to, expect some more in the near future. Suggestions for lessons are welcome, so don't hesitate to mail me if you'd like to see something!
- Lots of updates to the guitar pages: Roland, Gibson and Hamer sections include lots of new info and photos.
Other News:
- Regarding Andy Summers' latest tour in support of his new album. Stingchronicity reports this awesome tidbit:
'Sting joined Andy Summers on stage at the Pizza Express Jazz Club in London on 1 March. After wandering into the venue unannounced, up to Andy and greeting him with the words "Hi Andy!", Sting joined him on stage for a performance of "Round Midnight"!'
- Call me a late-sleeper, but there is an EXCELLENT interview with Andy in the January 2001 Guitar Player magazine (with U2's The Edge on the cover.) Go pick this up if you can - Andy gives a full run-down on his 'disinterested' composing style and chord vocabulary, the importance of rhythm, and how to kill cliches.
This site is slowly moving away from focusing on just Andy's Police-era work. Look for some new lessons to appear in the coming weeks!
- Brand new section added: Ads and Images. For now there are only three, but many more will appear when I scan some ads from old guitar mags I can get from school.
- Not much else besides the updates page getting updated... check out those double bars.. they weren't here yesterday!... (like you care)
For all of you wanting to get out-of-print CDs (like, um, Andy's entire catalog before Last Dance Of Mr. X), try Half.com. Oh yea, the Baked Potato show was spectacular!
- New title pic on the menu page (those boring brown letters just didn't work.)
- For those that wanted to know what it looks like, a pic of the Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Electric Mistress has been put up on the effects page.
I finally got around to working on this site, making some major updates (possibly due to the fact that Andy's playing at the Baked Potato in Hollywood tonight... yea, feel the excitement?)
- New Pics of Andy's guitars in the Fender and Gibson sections.
- An update on the 'Unknown 12-String' in the Other Guitars section (thanks to Ken Johnston!)
- Exclusive Delay Settings For Police Songs put up!
- Some pics and pages have been cleaned up.
- Oh yes, let's not forget the brand new Intro page!
- I finally snagged an awesome shot of Andy's Pete Cornish Pedalboard... I found this in an issue of Guitar Player magazine from '86 back when racks and pedalboards were becoming all the craze... check it out in the effects section.
