1. WHAT IS ARSENA

A.R.SE.NA. (Studies centre "The seven dwarfs") was founded in Rome on january 1993, thanks to a joint effort by some young graduates in social, development, economic and/or international disciplines who had been already operating on the field, and especially at the University, since 1989.

The Association was born to answer to the need of setting up a meeting point for the cultural and scientific debate among all those (be they at the University, in school, NGO's, local authorities, foundations) which act and develop researches on the ground of the numerous issues concerning developing countries and the "equilibria" which rule North - South relations.

The Association is engaged in carrying out researches, conferences and seminars, internal and external training to develop an action of awakening and linking between the initiatives of the scientific and university community and the civil society.

A group of members is currently carrying out, on behalf of the Libraries Service of Rome's municipality, some series of lessons on developing countries targeted to secondary school students.

Please note that items 2 and 4 can be found in the Italian version of this page
