Montalbano Castle

The Montalbano Castle, by now transformed in a luxury condominium , rises just out of Florence and dominates the Aretina road to defense of the way for the Valdarno Superiore (upper Arno Valley). Nothing of the original medieval building  called 'Rocca Tedalda' remains, due to a complete reconstruction in New-Gothic style carried on at the end of last century. Private property, is visible only from the outside.
