Quarate Castle

Along the road that connect Grassina with S.Polo rises the rests of the ancient Quarate Castle, reduced today to a stand alone tower . The name derives from the family of the Quaratesi that founded the suburb and the castle. The main house that rose near the tower  is today a farm  without more evident traces of the 14th century fortifications.
