News

January 11, 2004: ruins of Roman Imperial age buildings are being found during works for station Duomo (Linea 1) (see news - in Italian - from Il Mattino).

January 16, 2004: more and more archaeological discoveries are being made during excavations for stations Municipio and Duomo (Linea 1): Naples vice-Mayor Rocco Papa announces that protected paths are being considered to allow public visits to working areas (see news 1 and news 2 - in Italian - Il Mattino).

March 19, 2004: station Duomo (Linea 1) will be built wider than planned, and will contain all old Greek-Roman objects being found, among which the whole Gymnasium (the temple of Neapolitan Olympic Games) (see news - in Italian - from Il Mattino).
