For
FS98 (Ver. 1)
Hi, this is a
panel for the Good STOL plane Twin Otter. First
of all this is a rework of Evert Valla's Twin
Otter panel of which I have left part of
insrtuments (engines parameters) and part of the
background.
I don't design gauges, so my work was limited to
choose the best instruments for a plane of its
class.
I've fitted an HSI (standard layout on capitain
seat on 300 version I think), good radios (with
useful stby frequencies) better airpeed
indicator, a working fire panel, a radioaltimeter
and a primitive GPS.
With a Twin Otter and an avionic like this you
can realy go everywhere you want.
I've flown several
time on Twin Otters, 3 time in Norway on
Wideroe's ones.
When I flow them in Norway (from Tromso to
Honnisvag) the wheather was not of the best, and
for a large airliner passenger like me (coming
down from a Braathen 737) the sensation of that
flight was more or less more or less the same of
a long rollercoaster ride. I was feelling safe on
such plane (even on biggest jumps!), expecially
when I saw that the plane I was flying on
(LN-BNJ) was 22 years old (I was 23 !).
I remember tose flights as one of the most
beautiful I've never had, maybe because of the
wild, windly (very windly), and cloudy (very
cloudy), norvegian landscape, or of the power of
such plane to fight such wild country for so many
years, (or just because of the young blond
copilot-girl !).
Now I still fly in Norway with Wideroe's Twin
Otters on my PC and in my dreams...

| For FS98 (Ver 1) This is an add-on for
my Twin Otter panel. With this little update,
which adds gear and spoiler control, you'll be
able to use that panel with other twin
turboprops, as the Buffalo, Dornier 228...
Of course you
need the Twin Otter panel installed to
use this update.
