Una caratteristca di Isola delle Femmine è la sua intima natura di borgo marinaro in cui, accanto alle automobili, lungo le strade, sono posteggiate le barche da pesca.

	L'isola fu frequentata già in età punico-romana.La "Torre in Mare" è a pianta quadra, con due cisterne per la raccolta dell'acqua piovana e spessori murali di oltre due metri.
	La "Torre a Terra" costruita intorno al XV secolo, ha pianta a sezione cicolare, con due piani fuori terra, di cui quello inferiore adibito a cisterna.La Chiesa è stata edificata in epoche diverse. Prima del 1850 era una
	piccola chiesa ad una navata; nel 1860, si costruì la navata di destra con quattro cappelle e l'altare; nel 1913 si costruì la volta della navata centrale, la navata di sinistra con altre quattro capelle ed il campanile.

	rainwater reservoir. The Church has been built in successive stages. Before 1850 it was a small aisless church; in 1860 the right four-chapel aisle and the altar were built; in 1903 the left four-chapel aisle and the church tower were built.
