Clara Coïsson (1896-1981) è nata a Torre
Pellice da genitori valdesi;
Clara aveva un fratello, Roberto, con un figlio, Renzo. Dopo essersi laureata al Magistero di Firenze, nel 1922 si è
trasferita a Riga per lavorare come lettrice di
italiano all’Università, e poi dal 1940 al 1943 in Bulgaria, per dirigere
l’Istituto di Cultura Italiana. Dal dopoguerra ha insegnato francese alle scuole pubbliche,
prima a Iesi e poi a Torino, ed ha lavorato come traduttrice di
letteratura russa per Frassinelli e per Einaudi. Clara Coïsson (1896-1981) was born in Torre Pellice by Waldensian
parents; Clara had a brother, Roberto Coïsson, with a son, Renzo Coïsson. After having conferred her Magistero
(educational) degree in Florence, since 1922 she lectured as professor of
Italian at Riga university,
then she leaded the Institute of Italian Culture in Bulgaria from 1940 to
1943. Since the end of the war she has
taught French, in Iesi and then in Turin, and
has worked as translator
of Russian literature. |

Samuel Gersoni (1886-1941) è nato a Riga da genitori ebrei; Samuel aveva una sorella minore, Betty, con due figli, Benjamin e Saul Thalrose. Da giovane ha vissuto in Germania e in Russia; è stato allenatore sportivo e rappresentante della Michelin per i paesi baltici; si è sposato due volte ed ha avuto tre figlie. Nell’ottobre
1941 è stato internato nel ghetto
di Riga con la sua ultima figlia, Irene-Vilma; non sono sopravvissuti
alle stragi
naziste in Lettonia. Samuel Gersoni (1886-1941) was born
in Riga by
Jewish parents; Samuel had a sister, Betty, with two sons. In his youth he lived in Germany
and in Russia; he worked as a sporting trainer and then agent of the Michelin
for the Baltic countries; he married twice and had three daughters. In October
1941 he has been interned in the ghetto of Riga with his last daughter, Irene-Vilma; they didn’t survive the Nazi massacres in Latvia. |

Annalisa Gersoni (1926-1987) è nata a Riga; nel 1935
si è trasferita con la sorella Marina in Italia, a Torre
Pellice, presso la nonna materna. Dopo essersi laureata nel 1949 in Giurisprudenza, a Torino, è
emigrata negli Stati Uniti dove ha lavorato nel campo dell’assistenza
sociale. Nel 1962 è tornata a Torino, dove ha lavorato nell’editoria; dal
1976 è stata segretaria di redazione a “Tuttolibri”, inserto
settimanale de “La Stampa”. Annalisa

where she worked in social security. In
1962 she returned to Turin, where she worked for several publishers; since
