Savage Garden in Italy
AFFIRMATION promotion

Well, there's not so much to tell besides the fact that they came to Italy, Milan, and astonished us all! Ok, that's the start... Forgive my mistakes! Last monday, October 11th, they were in Italy to promote the new single and video "I knew I loved you" and the upcoming album!!!During the day, Darren also went to MTV SELECT ITALY. He had an itw (interview) and explained the meaning of the IKILY song and video telling that he thought Kirsten Dunst was in love with him but then he found out she just was a great actress (JK!). Of course, I think he was kidding.. his face told that! ;) He also said that he and Kirsten hear each other every day on the phone.. I think he was still kidding.. but heaven knows I cannot tell! It might be! Anyway, he was really funny, nice and talented.. he also spoke a few words in italian... "Come stai?" (how u doing?), "bene!" (fine) and "arrivederci" (goodbye). His pronounce was correct.. Keep going this way Darren.. I'm sure you're gonna learn it as soon as u can imagine! ;) Anyway.. he also spoke to an italian caller who wanted to know if he really meant the lyrics he sang in "TAS" (I want to live careless and free) seen that he was a great star.. and Darren explained that living in NYC he felt the need to run away from that chaos.. and also cuz it did fit for "The other sister" soundtrack! I'm just resuming, he didn't say these exact words... He introduced the video and at the end he had to choose a song from the select list. He chose "Some day we'll know" from New Radicals, saying it was his fav. song atm.....
After the MTV show, later in the evening, he went to the PROPAGANDA, a place where "artists" usually perform.. a kind of disco.. I think. (Sorry, I don't live in Milan so I cannot tell anything more!) Anyway, he came and fans waited for him to hug him, kiss him and ask autographs.. and sort of things. Daniel was inside the place and so the rest of the band. During Darren absence Anna Maria and the guys rehearsed and also played "Chained to you" even if it's not been sung.. Rehearsals are really awesome!!!! Well, all of us ppl waited hours and hours out of the Propaganda and were going really mad... So, we started joking and teasing each others to let time fly! :)) When the countdown was nearly over.. we prepared and came inside trying to find the best place we could.. We sat on the floor... and waited for them.. Unfortunately before their coming there was another band who did really annoy us or better we were bored.. not because they weren't SG but because we didn't understand a single word of what they were saying.. and they were italian.. Maybe a different kind of music... Maybe it's all about taste! Ok, let it be! When SG time came.. we were really excited... and started calling them and made standing ovation.. or better "sitting ovation".. seen that we couldn't stand up! LOL - A little introduction and then the show began...... They started performing "Affirmation" and "Truly Madly Deeply" and then stopped for being interviewed. Darren introduced Daniel cuz the dj seemed to have forgotten that SG is a band and not a solo artist. The FUNNIEST thing was Darren who imitated and had fun of the dj when he tried to translate in italian Darren's replies... He made the victory sign (or bunny sign) behind dj's head and started playing as he was talking with the sign of deaf ppl... Of course, it wasn't an offense for them but he was enjoying the public when the dj didn't see him... The dj interviewed Darren and let someone from the public ask him a question.. If I remember well, the questions were about the meaning of the "IKILY" video and if he had ever had any difficult moments during the release of the album that didn't let him go on ... For the meaning of the video he said was about "meeting the love of your life.. everyday... but you're just looking the other way!". About difficulties, for 6 months while he was in NYC.. he had a few moments which he felt not fine at all and also couldn't answer to the phone... that's for many changing were happening into his life all at once. After the itw, they started performing "I want you", "The animal song"  and "I knew I loved you". They were all amazing! The crowd was enthusiastic.. also those ppl who came to see the other band perform.  They played at their best and conquered a new public.. the "non" fans! Darren also said other italian words like "ciao", "grazie" (thank you), "tutti quanti" (all together - when he wanted us to sing) and "buona sera" (good evening)... I guess Anna Maria's lessons! Then the show finished and they left...
He promised they will come back to tour Italy again.
Anyway, it's been a wonderful experience... Thanks also to Leonie who was so kind and gentle... and also cuz she cares so much about Darren and the rest of the group!
PS: I had the chance to "know" or better talk to Anna Maria, Lee and Ben and also Daniel.. and they are really nice down to earth ppl. Anna Maria rules.. maybe cuz she's italian and speaks italian too. No offense meant for not italian ppl... Each one of us deserves the best from life!!! I mean, each one of us is important! All of them, no one left out... even if it's not that important cuz best features are heart and soul... looked better live... I truly madly deeply affirm that cameras and pics don't make them look the way they really are!!!! They are really cute and very nice ppl! Yep, they are!
