Vai spesso a visitare il tuo paese.

We were there in the winter of-96.We had plans of moving home again. But it was impossible, because people looked upon me as a betrayer. I had left my country for a nice time in Sweden, they thought. It was not possible for them to understand that I had suffered as well, in an other way, though. Before this war in Kosovo and Serbia ( in March) broke out we had planned to visit Bosnia in summer &endash;99. But now we don´t know. Anyhow we have Swedish passports nowÉÉ.

Some questions about your social life
Alcune cose riguardo la vita sociale

How about friends here in Sweden?
Hai degli amici qui in Svezia?

I´ve got both Bosnian and Swedish friends. It doesn´t matter to me where people come from. It´s more important how they behave and what kind of persons they are.

Religion?

Religion is of no importance to me and my daughter. We are looked upon as muslims but we don´t practise it. Well, we don´t eat pork.

Are ther any differences between the school in Sweden and in Bosnia?

There are big differences between the two schoolsystems. School is much harder in Bosnia than in Sweden. It´s a very undemocratic school. It´s important with details. Here in Sweden you try to learn the pupils how things work and why. Nothing is free in school as it is here in Sweden. Lower classes have 4 lessons a day and higher classes have 6 lessons a day. Every lesson is 40 minutes long with a 5 minutes break between. The pupils have to change shoes when they come to school, everything is so clean. All pupils take courses after school; for instance: drama, music, instrument, writing-courses, sports. There are no such lessons as religion and sex instruction, as you have in Sweden.

Nessuna cosa è libera a scuola come qui in Svezia.

What kind of TV-program did you watch?
Che tipo di programmi televisivi guardate?

We watched a lot of programs from foreign countries. There are however many good Bosnian producers. Most of their productions were ironic; they made fun of the Bosnian people.Otherwise the programs were about the same as here.

How about the equality between the sexes?
Cosa pensi dell'eguaglianza tra i sessi?

I think it´s similair with Sweden; in Bosnia both man and women work. They have the same value.

What do you miss most of all when you think of Bosnia?
Cosa ti manca di più della Bosnia?

Most of all I miss my father and I miss my family every weekend, when I notice that everyone else is going to do things with their families. I also very much miss the Bosnian weather and the Italian shops where I bought my clothes, shoes and handbags. The Bosnian markets are an other thing I miss. Because there you could buy a lot of funny things. And of course I miss my language.

Here follow some questions about Filis.

What does she think about school and the future?

She loves school and she manages very well (I know). She wishes to join the international programme in high school. It´s hard to get in there, but I hope she will. She doesn´t want to go back to Bosnia. She has other plans for the future.

Her friends, were do they come from?
Da quali paesi vengono i suoi amici?

She has friends from all over the world; Bosnia, Iran, Somalia, Kosovo, Iraque, Assyria.
Da tutto il mondo: Bosnia, Iran, Somalia, Kosovo, Siria.

Does she help you anything at home?
Aiuta nelle cose di casa?

Well, sometimes, but she is like most teenagers; they have one thing on their mind and that is themselves.

This is the end !
