Roy Lichtenstein, one of the initiators of pop art had to work for long years, before calling himself successful: he was almost fourty years old, when he became famous. I'm already fourtyfive years old, but my "success" doesn't go very much beyond being appreciated by my own family. Even though I paint and draw since when I was five years old.

My mania-passioon for Roy Lichtenstein started when I was attending the University (I'm currently a doctor), while - among a huge book on pathologic anathomy and some notes on microbyology I used to hide a cahier d'a't with some of his pieces.. I remember I was just catched by them. One of the pictures that was mostly impressing me was "blonde waiting" (I never dared to reproduce it).

Then, in 1981, an exibit in Florence drove me literally mad. I decided to start reproducing those pictures to see if it was possible to feel the same sensations I felt when I looked at those enormous pieces, having the illusion I could touch them.. well I've to admit I risked to try and touch them a couple of times!

I hope that those who share my love for this artist will feel a simitar sensation when looking at my pictures. I also decided to make them more affordable to all, by making them on request on smaller sizes that the originals. Anyhow, for those who like perfection, there is a version almost identical to the original, and sized like the original. A sort of clone, but with no intention to be offensive to king Roy. All the opposite!

So, I've decided to name my last exibit Pop Clones, because - exactly like the fragrant and fresh very American cereals, these pictures will be affordable to all.

See you soon
