The Circus Maximum

The royal family of Tarquinii built Circus Maximum in the place where - by tradition - the celebration games in honour of god Consus used to be played by the shepards already befour Rome's foundation. According to the legend, it wasright during those games that Romulus organized the Sabinae Raptum. This was a "massive kidnapping", organized by Romulus againist the Sabinii people, so to carry some women to Rome, that was at that time mostly inhabited by men.
