10B and BSH molecule

BSH molecule is used in its 10B enriched form for BNCT purpose. 10B allows the nuclear reaction: ¹n + ¹⁰B ---> ¹¹B ---> ⁷Li + ⁴He + gamma-rays ( for more details). BSH is a veicle molecule for 10B, it play a very important rule in the efficacy of therapy. Its primary requisites have to be:

a selecive localizzation on tumor cells

such a concentration on tumor cells that will allow the reaction

low tossicity in blood and other tissues
