Activities foreseen during the third
year
In the third year the project aims at integrating all the activities
carried out by the different work-groups.
Didactic Activities
-
Continuation of all the exchange activities among teachers and students;
confrontation and verification of the didactic units developed in the second
year, definitive elaboration, diffusion and further development.

Integration of the welcoming and language activities with the didactic
activities; use in didactic activities of the biographical and narrative
method employed in the social survey.

Collaboration with the creation of the virtual library, involving the students.

Starting new exchange activities among the students; a comparison between
the Goteborg Forskolan and Bergsjoskolan and the Jesi Primo Circolo Didattico
Conti and Sbriscia schools of the usages, customs, traditions and history
of the countries of origin of foreign children with the immigrant countries;
a comparison promoted by the Santa Creu school on the themes of "my friend,
the garden", inter-disciplinary activities (reading, language, manual-work,
science) for improving social cohabitation; activities of direct exchanges
between classes; other themes will be indicated on the basis of the second
year results.
After-school activities

Start-up of the observatory on the role of the Local Authorities to favour
a permanent comparison and exchange of information on the policies and
activities of the European organisations.

Continuation and development of the experience of the afternoon centres
and co-ordination of the interventions between schools and Local Authorities.

Favour the creation of meeting periods and places, of knowledge and exchange
among people of different cultures and among operators with professional
experience and from differing institutes, as a fundamental and substantial
moment of active participation and collaboration among people. Support
the Casa della Cultura project in Italy. Creation of welcoming activities.

Favour a major integration between extra-scholastic and didactic activities,
with particular regard to welcoming activities and overcoming the linguistic
difficulties of foreign children. Strengthen the linguistic support interventions.

Continuation of the project co-ordinated by the Ancona Province for creating
work for nomads and the promotion of a specific European project on this
argument, looking for new partners more directly interested in this specific
theme.
Inquiries and training

Continuation of the training and organisational development of the third
training meeting to be held in a place to be decided; documentation of
all the material produced and creation of didactic units for the training
of adults. The third seminar will further develop the results that will
emerge from the next meeting in Lleida (April 2000). In any case, during
the meeting in Jesi (February 2000), the partners of the didactic activity
work-group have already proposed to direct their attention more towards:
social competence; personal and social conflict management to improve integration,
continuing to experiment with both training methodology, already used in
the first training seminar in April 1999 at Jesi, and the biographic and
narrative method used in the social inquiry.

Social inquiry distribution of the book created during the second year
of the project; integration of methodology with the didactic activities;
continuing the interviews life histories and testimony, as a moment of
knowledge and direct exchange between people of different cultures. Continuing
— with the direct intervention of the institutional partners — updating
the statistical data on the presence and social problems of immigrant families.
Web and virtual library

In the third year begin creating a virtual library personalised for the
project and the method followed, suggesting reading schemes, articulated
by themes, with information and suggestion cards. The virtual library will
be a useful instrument for all the operators in which to find information
and documents for an improved understanding of inter-cultural and migratory
phenomena, for the consultation of norms and experiences, for improving
inter-cultural pedagogy (narrative pedagogy, listening pedagogy, research,
de-centralisation, co-operative learning, dramatisation and non-verbal
language, concept learning). It will be created integrated with the other
activities of the project and directly involving the students too.

The documentation of the work of all the groups will be put together on
a CD and published on a web site with the aim of continuing the distance
comparison and maintaining the considerations up-to-date beyond the conclusion
of the project.
