Avvenimenti
- Nel febbraio/marzo 1981 la band lavora al nuovo album.
- Il 27 maggio esce il singolo "Primary" (Primary e Descent).
- Nel giugno 1981 esce il quarto LP dei CURE "Faith". Il lato B contiene la colonna sonora del film in bianco e nero "Carnage Visors".
- Robert Smith: "L'album rispecchia pienamente i nostri stati d'animo attuali, sono morte delle persone a noi molto vicine. Non ho paura della morte, ma penso che serva molto tempo per riuscire ad accettarla."
- Esce in versione 7'' e 12'', "Charlotte Sometimes"
