she follows me down to the sound of the sea
slips to the sand and stares up and me

the night turns as I try to explain
irresistable attraction and orbital plane
"or maybe it's more like a moth to a flame?"
she brushes my face with her smile
"forget about stars for a while..."
as she melts...

meanwhile millions of miles away in space
the incoming comet brushes jupiter's face
and disappears away with barely a trace...

"was that it? was that the jupiter show?
it kinda wasn't quite what I'd hoped for you know..."
and pulling away she stands up slow
and round her the night turns

that was the jupiter crash
drawn too close and gone in a flash
just a few bruises
in the region of the splash...
she left to the sound of the sea
she just drifted away from me
so much for gravity...

Lo Scontro di Giove
mi segue sotto al suono del mare
scivola verso la sabbia e si ferma davanti a me
"è così che accade? è così che ci si sente?
è così che cade una stella?
è così che cade una stella?"

la notte finisce mentre tento di spiegarle
irresistibile attrazione e piano orbitale
"o forse è più come una falena a una fiamma?"
strizza la mia faccia con un sorriso
"dimenticati le stelle per un po'..."
e si scioglie...

nel frattempo milioni di miglia lontano nello spazio
la incombente cometa strizza la faccia di giove
e sparisce con appena una traccia...

"era questo? era questo lo spettacolo di giove?
non è proprio stato calmo come avevo sperato, sai..."
e spingendomi via si rialza lentamente
e attorno a lei la notte gira
attorno a lei la notte gira...

sì era questo
questo era lo scontro di giove
disegnato troppo vicino e andato in un bagliore
solo un po' di ammaccature
nella regione dello scontro...
mi ha lasciato al suono del mare
si è solo staccata da me
così tanto per la gravità...
