GOOD FRIDAY
The celebration of Good Friday takes place just outside the town walls on a little hill called Calvary. At 1pm a wood statue of Christ is lifted on a cross and singers start an old song of the XVIII century " le lamentanze" ( Complains ). They sing till when, late in the afternoon, Christ is laid in an urn and carried in procession with the statue of Our Virgin Of the Sorrow .The statue has been on the hill since 4 o'clock with two women saying prayers and changing every half an hour. The day before Good Friday people visit small shrines symbolizing the Holy Sepulchre in the town churches.
